Mindfulness means bringing our awareness to the present moment without judgment. I believe that mindfulness practices remain relevant even during a pandemic and during citizen protests against racism. Specifically, I believe that practicing mindfulness allows those of us with deeply embedded racist beliefs bring those beliefs to conscious awareness so that we can do the necessary work of challenging them and replacing them with the truth.
